About The YMCA of Tuscalooa's Operation Backpack 

The YMCA of Tuscaloosa and Boys & Girls Club of West Alabama are partnering again this summer to provide school supplies for children in our community and we would like your help! The children you help through this project will be filled with hope, joy, and excitement as they start the school year. Your investment will provide these children with the opportunity to start school with the tools to be successful.

Three Easy Ways to Get Involved

​

1. Fill a newly purchased backpack with supplies and drop off at Target, YMCA of Tuscaloosa County, Inc. or Boys & Girls Clubs of West Alabama.

 

2. Buy Buffalo Rock products at Target and a portion of the sales will go to Operation Backpack.

 

3. Make an online donation- ymcatuscaloosa.org - and we will buy it for you.

Fill a newly purchased backpack with the following supplies:

​

  • 2 one-subject composition books

  • 2 spiral notebooks 

  • 1 pkg wide-ruled paper 

  • 1 pkg pens 

  • 2 24 pack crayons 

  • 1 8-pack markers or colored pencils 

  • 1 child safety scissors 

  • 1 2-pocket folder 

  • 1 glue stick 

  • 1 box of tissues 

  • *Hand sanitizer and Lysol if available  

Lighten the load for Tuscaloosa students and families and donate at these locations: 

  • Tuscaloosa Target 

  • Buffalo Rock 

  • YMCA of Tuscaloosa 

  • Boys & Girls Club of West AL.
