As schools return to in-person learning, the Y is opening afterschool. Y afterschool programs provide a safe, nurturing environment while also offering creative and engaging ways for kids to stay active and connected after school hours. We know safety is top-of-mind for parents now more than ever. You can rest assured knowing your child’s well-being is the Y’s first priority.

The Benjamin Barnes YMCA After School Program serves over 100 children each year. Every school day, children in the Tuscaloosa City and Tuscaloosa County systems are picked up from schools and taken to the Barnes YMCA Monday-Friday for recreation, homework and daily snacks. The program also includes individual tutoring, homework assistance, Y Readers literacy initiative and an arts program in painting, music and poetry.

Rates: 

$15 Registration fee or $20 Family Registration Fee

$65 per week per child for full time or $15 daily fee.

DHR Clients and CDRS clients are accepted, and sibling discounts are available.
